I have been taking piano lessons for the last 3 years under the guidance of Renate Hartnagel, as a mature student. During this time we have managed to go through the grades 1,2,3 and 4 whereas my earlier tutors got me nowhere in 20 years!!
I started to teach myself, from books at age 9. I am now considerably older than that!
Renate has helped me to correct many bad habits. For instance ‘fingering’, I had very little idea. ‘Timing’ that was very poor. I found I could just not understand some of the time signatures at all.
My teacher was very patient, when I was slow. She has the ability to explain in several different ways, until you ‘GET IT’! As a teacher, she is a diamond.
